Vegans can eat almost anything non-vegans eat for breakfast. Whether it’s cereal, toast, fruit salad, or something more elaborate, like vegan croissants, there’s always something to choose from. Making a vegan breakfast doesn’t have to be hard—you just have to know where to start.

From French toast to vegan bacon to banana muffins, the options are endless. There’s no shortage of healthy vegan breakfast recipes, too! I like to start my day with my Homemade Granola or this Vegan Green Smoothie when I need something nourishing and energizing. 

What to eat instead of eggs for breakfast

Vegans are masters at replacing eggs for breakfast. All you really need is tofu and simple seasonings! And for lazier mornings, store-bought vegan “eggs” (like JUST Egg) come in really handy.

You can still have a protein-rich breakfast by replacing real eggs with a batch of my Tofu Scramble or these Fried Vegan Eggs. Would you rather skip the tofu?
